Scotland’s Ultimate Halloween Guide 2019

**UPDATED** If you love pop culture, Halloween is the best time of the year – FACT! You can dress up as your favourite character, you can binge watch horror, sci-fi and fantasy and it’s socially acceptable, nay encouraged, to watch ALL the  scary movies.

Last year we put together a Guide to all the cool Halloween events happening in Scotland and people seemed to really like it! So we are doing the same for 2019, this time pulling together the most interesting Halloween events across the month of October (and a bit of November). Bring on the ghosties and ghoulies and let’s invite in Halloween!

GLASGOW & THE WEST

 

Various dates across October – Gateway to Hell @ M&D’s Theme Park, Motherwell

Back for the 6th year running, OUTBREAK returns to M&D’s Scotland’s Theme Park! Are you brave enough to conquer the GATEWAY TO HELL?

 



13th October – Glasgow Horror Fest

Glasgow Horror Fest is back for Halloween Season 2019 with a packed day of scary film screenings in the heart of the city.

 


 

19th October – East Kilbride Comic Con: Halloween Spooktacular

BGCP hit East Kilbride with a spooky Halloween spectacular! There will be the usual Comic Con fun with cosplaying, traders and kid friendly fun. Expect a spooky twist to the day!


 

24th to 27th October – Fright Night Theatre @ Websters Theatre, Glasgow

Step inside Dracula’s Castle and witness four unlikely heroes; Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, The Bride and The Mummy as they battle it out to try and solve the mystery of who done it in this comedy that pays homage to classic horror films.


 

24th October to 3rd November – Quarantine @ Kelburn Estate & Country Centre

Quarantine
Defeat the dead. Find the cure. Escape alive.

Step into a new and terrifying, dark and twisted world, brought to you by Kelburn’s Haunted Forest.


 

25th October – The Great Big Halloween Fright Night Quiz @ Bar Varia, Braehead

If you think you have more facts than fear and enough trivia on all things Halloween to frighten the dead then reserve your space at the most terrifying quiz night in town.


 

25th October – Frankenstein: A Radio Play on Stage @ Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock

Following their sold out Edinburgh Fringe triumph ‘Para Handy’ No Nonsense Productions return with ‘Frankenstein’. Chaotic comedy as part of the Galoshans Festival.


 

25th & 26th October – Paisley Halloween Festival

Paisley is celebrating Halloween in style this October with the return of their Halloween Festival! This time it’s bigger, better and spookier!

 


 

25th & 26th October – Victorian Halloween @ The Tenement House, Glasgow

Enjoy an exclusive after-hours tour of the Tenement House under the spooky flickering gas lights as you learn about Victorian mourning and Glasgow’s spooky past!


 

25th October to 10th November – GlasGlow @ Botanic Garden, Glasgow

A year in the making, GlasGLOW is back. Nine portals have opened; nine immersive worlds await. Halloween 2019 will be like no other.

 


 

26th October – Haunted Manor @ Brodick Castle, Isle of Arran

As Halloween draws near, so does the return of Haunted Manor, the immersive horror event at Brodick Castle! Follow a trail through the castle and dark forest where Brodick’s many famous ghosts, including the grey lady, await your arrival……


 

26th & 27th October – Halloween Weekend @ Finlaystone Country Estate, Inverclyde

Follow the witch and wizard trail at Finlaystone Country Estate. You can carve your own pumpkin to take home, design a spooky scarecrow and other seasonal shenanigans.


 

27th October – Halloween Drive-In Movie: A Nightmare on Elm Street

Glasgow’s Hospice are back at the Riverside Museum for another spookily exciting Halloween Movie Drive-In. This year they’re screening the bone-chilling A Nightmare on Elm Street!


 

27th October – Tamfest @ Ayr

Rooted in heritage and inspired by the apocryphal Tam O’Shanter poem by Robert Burns, Tamfest is a festival unlike any other!

 


 

30th October – Halloween Screening @ BAaD, Glasgow

A special screening of John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic – Halloween, the movie that not only influenced & inspired a generation of film making in the horror genre, but also the entire film industry.

 


 

2nd & 3rd November – Forge Comic Con: Halloween Never Ends @ The Forge, Glasgow

The BGCP returns to The Forge Shopping Centre and they are bringing Halloween back with them!

 

 


EDINBURGH & THE EAST

5th October to 3rd November – The Home of Halloween @ The Edinburgh Dungeon

Join us for the most horrible time of year; Edinburgh Dungeon is the home of Halloween and the ultimate experience through Edinburgh’s darkest history.

 


 

21st to 26th October – Frankenstein @ Festival Theatre, Edinburgh

A young scientist by the name of Frankenstein breathes life into a gruesome body……

Mercat Tours have a huge variety of spooky tours happening across Halloween.

 


 

31st October & 1st November – The Maze at Kingennie

After a sell out last year The Maze is back: a live action, zombie infested maze within the grounds of the prestigious Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort in Dundee.

25th & 26th October – Briarlands Farm Halloween Fright Night

Enter one of Scotland’s most haunted farms for a night of terror! Not for the faint hearted!
