If you are planning a trip to the capital this October then be prepared to experience the Home of Halloween at The Edinburgh Dungeon (and maybe bring a pumpkin!)
‘The White Lady – Bloody Revenge’ is a new ghost show running as part of the standard actor-led Dungeon tour exclusively during Halloween. This immersive story tells of the vengeful Lady Christian Nimmo, lover of John Forrester, laird of Corstorphine Castle in the 1600s who slayed him with his own sword in a fit of jealous rage.
At her beheading in Edinburgh in 1679, she wore a hooded white gown. The garment that earned her the moniker of White Lady. Sightings of her blood-spattered ghost at Corstorphine dovecot, the site of her many encounters with the Laird, continue to this day and now she is appearing at the Edinburgh Dungeon – bent on wreaking havoc…
A series of adults-only ‘Dungeon Lates’ events, are also new for Halloween 2019. These after-hours tours promise to be bolder, darker and much scarier with shocks and thrills dialled up for maximum effect. Strictly for ages 18 and over the ‘Dungeon Lates’ offer a totally new twist on the Dungeon experience and to help guests recover, a restorative cocktail and shot will be included in the ticket price.
On National Pumpkin day (26th October), any visitor to the Dungeon bringing a carved pumpkin or turnip (we are Scottish after all) will enjoy a free entry!
